Why do you think Bray Wyatt uses VHS tapes? Is it genius or just plain weird?

Uncle Howdy is a complex character on WWE TV right now, and it is now evident that this character is not a ghost, but rather an alternative personality of Bo Dallas. This was clarified in the most recent edition of Raw, but one point remained unanswered: why was the spooky guy talking with the WWE Universe via VHS tape?

This question may have been answered on Reddit, where a proposal was recently revealed and briefly discussed. The Reddit theory stated, “So why is Bo Dallas using VHS tapes to communicate? VHS tapes he not only recorded, but also edited, and did VFX on, since it’s now established that he is Bo Dallas, the performer, and not a supernatural creature? He is 34. VHS had already begun to be phased out by the time he was 9 years old. What possible emotional significance could VHS tapes hold? Beyond of course that they a ‘spooky.'”

VHS tapes are nostalgic since they haven’t been seen on TV or in stores in a long time, and their sudden return brings back childhood memories of many viewers. The fact that VHS tapes may contain suspense and are nostalgic is one of the reasons they may be employed in WWE programming right now.

Furthermore, many might be familiar with the fact that these sorts of cassettes are commonly employed in vintage horror films. These tapes suggest the same horrifying impact on the current product, and Uncle Howdy wants everyone to be afraid of him, which is why he sends these cassettes every week to the commentary table in which he talks about himself.

While the use of VHS tape might be now somewhat clear, there can be one more reason behind Uncle Howdy relying on the old technology.

Uncle Howdy did not want digital distortion either

The acclaimed theory did not end there; it also claimed that because Bo Dallas’ brother Bray Wyatt experienced some digital issues while presenting his show, Firefly Fun House on WWE TV and hence VHS would be a superior option. Dallas learned from his elder brothers’ mistakes and did not want to make the same mistakes, which is why he opted for a different path.

“The digital distortions that occur surrounding the Wyatts always seemed to have a supernatural origin. But they were mainly electrical disturbances, along with at one point summoning an actual ghost. The digital distortions involving the Firefly Funhouse and The Fiend were more clearly extradimensional; the funhouse was a pocket dimension that existed in media, that other people could even be sucked into, and the Fiend was the manifestation of that in the real world,” claimed the fan theory.

Uncle Howdy is now included in an interesting program with Chad Gable, which may culminate in a match between the two at Summerslam. No reports have been released for something like this, however conjecture is usually there in the market.
