Uncle Howdy had another VHS tape in store for us on Monda Night Raw 07/15! This time around, the main feature of the cinematic segment wasn’t Bo Dallas or his supernatural friend. Rather, what we saw was Erick Rowan trying to talk his heart out and unburden the emotional baggage that he has been carrying all this while after losing two of his ‘brothers’.

There were several emotional details in the segment but one of them stood out as it was part of a larger, real-world Japanese philosophy that the Wyatt Sick6 had already teased before their arrival.

The main theme behind the paranormal stable is that the members are broken inside due to the events that happened in their past. Erick Rowan used to wrestle alongside both Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt, and sadly, neither of the two stars is now with us.

However, Uncle Howdy saw beauty in a broken Erick Rowan and wanted to pull him out of it as the latter said during the segment, “We’re gonna take our broken hearts and make some beautiful art.” This was an homage to the Japanese art of Kintsugi.

The art is that of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. So, broken things aren’t thrown away, but appreciated for what they have become.

Even before arriving in the promotion, the Wyatt Sicks had teased the significance of this art through the Archives Recovered website that was created for their promotion. Although fascinating, this wasn’t the only beautiful message that the VHS segment with Rowan carried.

Uncle Howdy and co. had one more message to deliver

Even before Monday Night Raw arrived, the Wyatt Sicks had started teasing the segment that they were about to deliver. On their official X page, the stable first uploaded a picture of Rowan without revealing his face, which kept fans guessing. Later on, they uploaded an image where he was holding a lamb mask, and the text edited over the image read, “Hope.” This wasn’t all. The same tweet had a coded message for the fans, who would be interested in doing some detective work. There were numerals written in a certain pattern that appeared to be saying something.

This is when a fan deciphered everything and out came an Italian proverb that said, “Hope is the last thing ever lost.” Yet again, Uncle Howdy and the rest of his gang were able to deliver a beautiful message to fans while also keeping it relevant to the segment that was shown on Raw 07/15. Since Rowan felt helpless at the time when he had lost both of his ‘brothers’, Howdy wants to tell him that it is important to not lose hope and keep trying because it is our perspective on the failures that matters the most.
