The former WWE employee hosts podcasts on a regular basis. In a recent episode of his own Grilling JR podcast, he made sure to talk about the crucial merger news. When asked about his opinion on the same, Ross said, “I’m excited about it. The synergy between these two guys could be overwhelming.”
Here, Ross is talking about Vince McMahon and Dana White. Ross lists the two men as being ‘old-school’ in terms of their mindsets. According to him, this could prove to be a powerful force when the merged promotions move ahead toward a brighter future.
While the Hall of Famer considers the deal to be a brilliant move, he is scared of one thing. “The numbers that I saw were scary and just unbelievable. We’re talking about ‘billions’ now,” added Jim Ross. Although the company bought WWE for $9.3 Billion, the merger made the UFC-WWE body worth $21 billion in total.
Probably the reason why Ross considers it scary is due to the money involved in the deal. Even though if it is a great deal for the owners and fans, this could create a monopoly.

This monopoly can possibly affect the rising rival promotions in the future.
