CM Punk Has a Bold Prediction for Tyron Woodley vs Colby Covington

CM Punk is a man of many words and he has spoken again. In a story on Instagram, the former WWE Superstar gave his predictions for the major UFC matches set to take place soon.

Tyron Woodley will take on Colby Covington in a much anticipated bout. In the lower card, Gerald Meerschaert will take on the indomitable Khamzat Chimaev.

Firstly, Punk has chosen Tyron Woodley to emerge victorious against Colby Covington. This matchup is worthy of Punk’s predictions since it can go any way.

The hype around this fight is that it is nearly 6 years in the making. Emerging out of an initial fight, the bitterness has grown over time, much like a dualist encounter. 

Woodley is a former Champion while Colby is a former Interim Champion. Both know what it takes to win and defend their gold. It will undoubtedly be a big match.

Both fighters are coming out of losses. Woodley lost to the evergreen Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. He will look to turn his fortunes around against Covington.

CM Punk surprisingly chose the underdog

Colby lost to Usman as well in his last fight and wants to bounce back. Perhaps, beating Tyron Woodley would be the perfect statement to make. It is clear that in this fight, Colby Covington is the favorite to win.

However, CM Punk shockingly chose Woodley even though he is the underdog going into this. Considering the fact that Punk once trained in Woodley’s Gym, it should not come as much of a shock.

Next, CM Punk has decided to go with Gerald Meerschaert, which is a wise option. 

Meerschaert is a veteran fighter and has made a good name for himself in the blood sport. For every alpha lion, however, there is always a challenger.

Khamzat Chimaev, the hotshot, is coming knocking at the door. This match will be a classic veteran vs rising star fight which is bound to get ugly. 

Chimaev has been a little over the top with himself but has the skills to pay the bills. If he does manage to beat the veteran fighter, he will make a big name for himself going up.
