Dwayne Johnson Stunned After Watching ‘Scary’ Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279, Glad That He Made It in Time to Catch the Fight

Dwayne Johnson is an avid UFC fan. Also, since he is currently closely associated because of the Project Rock contract with the company, Johnson makes sure he watches every bout wherever taking some time out even if he is busy.

Similarly, DJ didn’t miss the recent matches at UFC 279. He was excited to watch Khamzat Chimaev vs Kevin Holland in which Borz won and ended the match in the first round. The Rock shared one of the top-notch reactions on Twitter while watching the match.

Dwayne Johnson is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Black Adam. However, amidst all the promotion work, he took some time out to watch Khamzat Chimaev vs Kevin Holland at UFC 279. The Rock tweeted about the same.

He wrote, “Just landed and juuuust in time to catch @KChimaev @Trailblaze2top. What a crazy week in @UFC. Man I’m pumped to watch this!! Get it boys #UFC279 🥃🥃”

Chimaev won the match in the first round by scoring a D’Arce choke submission at 2:13 of round 1. Borz dominated the match and quickly secured the victory.

The result shocked DJ, and he tweeted, “Holy sh*t. #UFC279”

The reaction alone of the former WWE star gives us an idea of how excited he was for the match. Moreover, it seems The Rock was happy to see Borz in this match, as his originally scheduled bout against Nate Diaz didn’t happen. This is because Chimaev failed to make the welterweight mark for the fight against Diaz.

UFC fighters are not getting paid over the contract of UFC and Project Rock brand of Dwayne Johnson 

A few days ago, Dwayne Johnson shared a motivational video to promote his deal with the UFC. We can find multiple UFC fighters promoting Project Rock footwear, which has instigated an official deal with the company.

As per the deal, all the UFC fighters will have to wear the Project Rock footwear in the octagon. However, a dispute began among people about the UFC not paying their fighters to wear the footwear of Johnson’s brand.

Previously, the UFC fighters used to bring out the banners of sponsors. The fighters would get their payment directly from the sponsors, but the UFC doesn’t allow it anymore.

However, it seems the UFC continues to make millions while the fighters would have to wear merchandise and not receive any payment.
