A few years back in 2015, Ronda Rousey, along with her then-Head Coach, Edmond Taeverdyan, appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. It emotionally moved Joe Rogan while talking about the moment after Rousey’s fight with Bethe Correia in Brazil.
Rogan said, “Knowing you as long as I had and having daughters, it was so emotional for me. That was the closest I’ve ever come to crying while…. I might cry now. When I was interviewing somebody, it was because I was just, it was so intense and It was like I really knew that I was seeing history. I know it’s hard for you probably to talk about it because you’re living it right now, but you’re in the middle of history.”
He added, “What happened there? What’s going on with you right now? A gear part of some crazy moment right now. It’s not just sports, it’s like you’re a very unique example for other women. That’s never existed before. There’s never been a female combat sports athlete like you.

In 2015, Ronda Rousey was at the peak of her MMA career, something not many female fighters had achieved at the time. Rogan, who has called several matches prior to Rousey’s UFC debut, couldn’t hold his tears back by witnessing The Baddest Woman on the Planet being on the top of the game.

In the same episode Rogan said, “When you down to Brazil, knocked that girl out and like taking it all in, it was so great. I was so happy for you and it was so crazy at the time, it was nuts. The whole thing was a strange moment.”
He added, “There was a feeling in the air and there was a recognition of what was happening. That was very different than any other fight that I’ve ever called before.”
The champion walk Rousy took inside the octagon made Joe Rogan shocked. As per Rogan, in his years-long UFC career, he never saw any female UFC fighter reaching this level.
