When CM Punk left WWE in 2014, many wrestling fans were confused and hope for his return to the company. However, by the end of 2014, he announced about being signed with UFC and was going to pursue an MMA career thereon. Nevertheless, his UFC career didn’t go as he thought.  The legendary UFC commentator Joe Rogan once gave his take on Punk’s MMA career after his match with Mike Jackson at UFC 225.

A few years ago, Joe Rogan, on his The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, discussed CM Punk’s career with his guest, Bellator fighter Joe Schilling. The Bellator fighter stated about Punk not having a physique and was the man during his time in WWE.

Rogan said, “He’s a very nice guy, and he’s a hard worker, but he does not have athletic talent. He’s missing a lot, and he’s a showman. When he was in WWE he was allowed to say, ‘I’m the f**king man’ and throws up his arm up there. They had it scripted, so he was the man.”

Furthermore, Rogan described Mike Jackson as a fighter who had zero fear as an opponent. He recalled how Jackson was toying with the former WWE Champion, which angered Dana White. Therefore, White later stated Jackson and Punk would never fight in the UFC again.

Moreover, in the interview, the former UFC color commentator had a few words for CM Punk. He said, “He doesn’t have any talent, it’s all it is, he doesn’t have physical talent for whatever reason, whether it’s his approach his intensity. Whether it’s not his coaching. It was Duke f**king Roufus.”

Rogan and Schilling then talked about Punk’s MMA coach Duke Roufus. They shed a light on Roufus did his best training, ‘The Best in the World.’ Moreover, Schillings recalled Punk had two years to train before his first fight, but still, he lost. Actually, Punk had injured a couple of times while training before his first match.

Joe Rogan on Mickey Gall vs CM Punk

Towards the end of CM Punk’s topic, Rogan recalled Punk and Jackson facing Mickey Gall as their first opponent in the UFC. Rogan had a surprising reaction when UFC announced Gall vs Punk.

Rogan said, “When I saw he is gonna fight CM Punk, I was like, ‘Who said yes to this? Why the f**k would you say yes to this?’ This is a hundred percent guaranteed brain damage. There’s no way you’re gonna beat him.”
