Dwayne Johnson is indeed the most lovable person across the globe. Not just Hollywood actors but WWE superstars also often praise him for his respectful nature.

Similarly, once the most famous WWE monster praised The Rock for his major help. The WWE star is forever thankful to Johnson for this in unselfish deed he did.

A few years back, Brock Lesnar appeared on the Stone Cold Steve Austin podcast. Austin came up with the topic of Dwayne Johnson, putting Lesnar over in 2002. The Conqueror had a lot of praise to say about The Rock.

Lesnar said, “Dwayne did a lot, Dwayne that was really really awesome. Dwayne was leaving and people can say what they want about Dwayne in the business. But I tell you what, the guy was, he taught me to be selfish, he taught me to watch my back and if you are gonna thrive in this business, you gotta be selfish. The night that he was not selfish to me when I won the WWE Championship from him. It’s a give and take, but there are certain times you take.”

We rarely see Lesnar taking part in any interviews, as he hates being around people. However, whenever he is in an interview, he praises and pays his gratitude to The Rock for pushing him over in 2002 and teaching him things in the business.

The Beast further added how, after becoming the champion, things were new for him. He claims everything happened so fast that he wasn’t able to cope with it. He told Austin about finding the business intriguing for a long time in his rookie year. 

Brock Lesnar talks about the actual first match against Dwayne Johnson

The WWE Universe mostly thinks The Rock and Brock Lesnar faced each other in SummerSlam 2002 for the first time. However, it’s not true.as they had a match in Australia with Triple H also being a part of it. Lesnar recalled a situation where he clashed against Hunter and The Rock.

He said, “My first match was when they took me to Australia. I’m in the ring with, I’m in a Triple Threat match with Dwayne and Paul, Triple H. I was just having this conversation with Triple H, the last time I was on TV about him and Dwayne kind of just leaving me out of the loop on purpose because to get out there.”

The former UFC fighter claimed The Cerebral Assassin, and The Great One did this to make him learn the business. The Australia show was a live event and many wrestlers try new things at such shows.

Lesnar claimed this was a huge opportunity for him. He phrased, “You better swim or you’re gone”. Brock Lesnar got an abundance of knowledge in this first match, which helped him deliver a great performance at SummerSlam.
