For those who are not aware yet, Khamzat Chimaev was initially supposed to fight against Diaz. But when Chimaev failed to meet the weight, Ferguson had to step in. Prior to UFC 279, in a brief chat with Megan Olivi, Diaz discussed the last-minute opponent switch and shed some additional light on his fight.

One of the things that were cut from the interview was when he made fun of The Rock’s Under Armour sportswear brand, the UFC’s current shoe partner. Meanwhile, this is now trending on Twitter. The section of the interview that was cut out was when he lifted his leg, pointed to the shoes, and said, “These shoes f***ing s**k. Look at these shoes they made me put this sh*t on.”

Although he didn’t specifically target The Rock, he attacked his brand since he wasn’t impressed with its standard. Diaz was not happy about it as allegedly fighters are apparently not paid to wear those shoes. And thus, the history between Diaz and Johnson, who had a verbal altercation earlier, continues.

The conflict between the two started when UFC President Dana White assigned The Rock to introduce the belt during a major fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 for the first BMF championship. Moreover, after losing against Masvidal, he got furious at The Rock.

Diaz goes off during the post-fight news conference about The Rock supporting Masvidal. He stated: “He’s on that side. F*** him. I’m on the West Coast side. Mike Tyson should’ve been here, anyway. He’s the baddest man on the planet, right?… He should’ve been the one over here.”
