One of these superstars is his close friend, Ken Shamrock. Shamrock and Johnson were the best of friends during their time in WWE. So much so that DJ appeared on Impact’s the Hall of Fame where Ken Shamrock was being inducted. This might have put Vince McMahon in a state of complete distress, but Johnson will do anything for a friend.
Ken Shamrock talks about working with Dwayne Johnson
In an interview with Hannibal TV, they asked Ken Shamrock about his experience with The Rock, to which he said, “Well, then he [The Rock] was loaded with talent. Just, he was a star. Just being in the ring with him and being able to do those matches and learning from him. Learning how he was able to take that charisma and blow it out there. Especially watching him struggling because I was with him at the time he was struggling. Changed his name to The Rock, all of a sudden he got the attitude.”
“He started getting the mic and cutting promos and this character just developed. He became himself and started saying he’s going to do his thing. And watching him grow and I was doing angles with him as he was growing. We were both growing, and we were both just growing up. It was an awesome time.”

When asked about his favorite moments in WWE, Shamrock told the interviewer about the traveling experience and about his time in the ring, he said, “Some of my favorite highlights in the ring would have to be with The Rock. Because at that time, me and him were number one guys, both of us on the rise.”
