Is Jimmy Uso's absence hurting WWE's storyline, or is it building more anticipation for his return?

The Bloodline broke Jimmy Uso‘s spirits, throwing him away on a never-ending hiatus. Fans have had no updates about the wrestler’s return to the promotion for a little over three months. There were expectations to catch him at Money in the Bank in Toronto, but the PLE went by seamlessly. But Jimmy Uso was nowhere to be seen…

The question everyone must be pondering upon is why didn’t the Samoan star show up at the PLE? Although WWE didn’t bother to update us with an official answer, we can still speculate and predict the next time he may show up, right? So here’s what we think is happening!

Right now, the storyline, including The Bloodline, is building itself with new ruthless segments each week. WWE probably wants to make the stable appear almighty before they proceed further with the next chapter, including Jimmy Uso, his younger twin Jey Uso, and Roman Reigns. One reason behind Jimmy Uso’s absence at MITB was the possibility that they might be keeping him for the SmackDown before SummerSlam.

This way, he can show up either for a surprise match card at the August PLE, cut a promo, or be included in a spot that contributed to The Bloodline’s story. But what’s the second reason?

Another reason could be that the WWE is stalling his appearance until the day The Tribal Chief returns to the wrestling promotion. Since Reigns himself is supposed to get a babyface pop, there is a possibility that the promotion may want Jimmy Uso to be included in that moment. Meanwhile, not just the viewers but the WWE analysts are also banking on Jimmy Uso to reunite with his estranged twin.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jimmy Uso's absence hurting WWE's storyline, or is it building more anticipation for his return?

Have an interesting take?

Speaking on the ‘Notsam Wrestling’ podcast, Sam Roberts reckoned, “When does Jimmy Uso return? Do Jey and Jimmy Uso come back together? And if you’ve got the Usos coming back together, that feels like it feels like Jimmy returning, and it feels like the Usos coming back together are both their own individual moments that you want to let breathe, that you want to give time to that we haven’t seen yet.”

Meanwhile, there is another burning question that needs to be answered and it is regarding Roman Reigns’ return to the Stamford-based company.

When will Roman Reigns return to WWE?

The Head of the Table is being heavily booked by the viewers to return as a babyface. This is because the entire Bloodline has turned against him and there are no supporters left in the faction for him anymore. The assault on The Wiseman is sure to push Reigns over the edge, forcing him to have a change of heart.

Although there is no solid confirmation about when the former Undisputed Universal Champion may return, it could be around the same time as Paul Heyman’s. Heyman is confirmed to return to work in mid-August as he is slated to show up at the NYC Fan Fest.

So his kayfabe injury hiatus may wrap up at the beginning of August, allowing him to return with his Tribal Chief. To add to the story, Reigns’ SummerSlam status was also seemingly leaked by the leading wrestling promotion several weeks back. This shows how the Samoan talent was booked to show up at SmackDown before SummerSlam. Could this mean that he might return to the blue brand alongside Jimmy Uso? We can only hope.

There are other things to consider as well. His long-term battle against leukemia is going on. In fact, in a documentary before WrestleMania XL, the wrestler revealed that he was still taking his medications. Additionally, his father passed away on June 25. These things could potentially delay Reigns’ WWE return.
