2 Reasons Why Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Daughter Ava Raine Might Have a Successful Career as the Youngest General Manager in NXT History

As the first month of 2024 comes to an end with The Royal Rumble around the corner, the WWE made two massive announcements. Both regarding one particular wrestling family, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s family. While Johnson may not get a seat at the Table in the ring, he got one on the Board of Directors for TKO Holdings Group. However, on the same day, his daughter Ava Raine was promoted to be the General Manager of NXT.

Raine is currently the youngest GM in WWE history at only 22 years of age. This marks a huge achievement by the father and daughter duo for her prestigious family’s lineage.

The building blocks for Ava Raine being a General Manager

Many fans would argue that Raine has not been in the company long enough to be given that position. She joined the company in 2020 and made her debut in 2022. Since then, she has had a good run in NXT but nothing that warranted a promotion to GM, according to the fans.

The first reason why she would do well as the GM of NXT is the fact that William Regal is back in the company. 2022 saw Regal join AEW for a year before returning to the WWE in 2023. Taking up a behind-the-scenes role, he wasn’t seen on the WWE network. However, to grace Raine with the promotion, he made his return. Now, Regal has run NXT well with support from fans. His guidance will be a great factor for Raine.

The second reason why this will work well is that with her father on the Board for TKO, which oversees everything, she may be given more control. Johnson, being a veteran of the business, knows it better than anyone else. He can guide his daughter with more free will to run NXT better. While the hopes for Raine are high, the two guiding lights she has is enough for her to do a great job with the role.

Will Ava Raine be involved in any storyline?

This is something fans have been asking since the news of her promotion. There could be a possibility for Raine’s GM position to be used as a part of a storyline if not several. Being the youngest GM in the history of WWE is no small feat; it can be the base for her to build her character.
