Dwayne Johnson doesn’t hold back from making new foes in his wrestling career. Although fans have a clear picture of what feud Johnson will engage in moving forward; it wouldn’t stop other problems from approaching him. His presence in WWE could mean that some of his old rivals might also return to take shots at him.

CM Punk is also on the list of possibilities when we think of a wrestler who might want to plan his revenge on The Rock. The history that the two WWE legends have shared makes it highly probable for something like this to happen.

Last week on Raw, we saw Johnson giving the fans the perfect New Year’s surprise with his unexpected return. Even though his return is not likely at Raw again so soon, it is possible that CM Punk, out of all the wrestlers on the red brand, may want to call out the multi-time former WWE Champion.

There are a few reasons as to why Punk would take this opportunity on Monday Night Raw.

Firstly, Dwayne Johnson’s tease of feuding with The Bloodline has been a huge hit with WWE fans. There are speculations that the feud may conclude at Elimination Chamber. However, there’s a slight chance that it may even be the main event for WrestleMania 40 since “The Brahma Bull” was earlier hinted to appear in Philly. This may threaten Punk’s limelight, making him call out Johnson.

Secondly, let’s not forget the history that the two wrestlers share. At ‘Elimination Chamber’ in 2013, Johnson squashed CM Punk to snatch away his WWE Championship even as a part-timer. So, “The Best in the World” might be looking forward to evening things out between the two.

Since Dwayne Johnson showed up at Monday Night Raw last week, his presence on the red brand is plausible. In such a case, he may also have a verbal showdown with CM Punk if the latter calls him out.

During his wrestling run, “The People’s Champion” made several foes. However, his arsenal of in-ring rivals keeps on increasing despite his official retirement from the pro wrestling business. The wrestler calling out his cousin may have been the highlight of his last appearance in WWE, but Roman Reigns isn’t the only rival he made that day.
