The sudden return of Dwayne The Rock Johnson made fan’s dreams come true as The People’s Champ hinted at feuding against The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Despite the excitement, those rooting for Cody Rhodes to finish the story are unhappy. However, recent development suggests that Roman Reigns may lose his title at WrestleMania 40.

1. Cody Rhodes, the next face of WWE: Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and has been placed as a bona fide main eventer since then. Despite a failed attempt at WrestleMania 39, he is one of the top contenders to win the Royal Rumble this year and probably topple Roman Reigns from the top of the mountain.

WWE has invested in Cody Rhodes as the face of the company after Roman Reigns. WWE fans are already aware of Reigns’ part-time schedule and how irritating it is for fans who do not even see him fight on regular TV. There are wild speculations that Reigns may leave WWE soon to pursue a Hollywood career, a similar trajectory to Dwayne Johnson and John Cena.

2. Roman Reigns on a hiatus: Reigns is already scheduled to miss multiple PLEs after WrestleMania, including Backlash which will take place in LDLC Arena in Lyon Metropolis, France on May 4th. Going by the tradition of Backlash, the WWE Champion is expected to defend his title at Backlash. So, is Reigns’ absence a cue for WWE fans that he will be dropping his title soon and ending a record-breaking reign?

The Tribal Chief is also set to miss Elimination Chamber before WrestleMania in Australia. So, does this mean something? Why is Roman Reigns missing foreign PLEs despite WWE’s global expansion strategy while being the top face of the company?

Why is Roman Reigns skipping foreign PLEs?

As per Roman Reigns’s new contract with WWE, he is scheduled to work as a part-timer. Though neither Reigns nor WWE has revealed major details about the contract, but his contract allows him to spend more time at home. Hence, he barely attends any event outside of the USA except Saudi Arabia shows. The only PLE outside of the USA he is mandated to attend is Crown Jewel.

Reigns also picks and skips major PLEs like Survivor Series as per his liking and schedule. The flexibility has allowed Reigns to stay fresh physically while keeping his gimmick relevant. But some fans have grown bored of this and are now expecting a change. So, will WWE pull the trigger on Reigns this time?
