Will a No Holds Barred match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre be the most brutal yet?

In recent months, the feud between Seth Rollins and CM Punk was extinguished by Punk’s injury first and then Rollins’. In addition, the Visionary had to focus on other feuds, such as the one in which he was involved with The Bloodline and Cody Rhodes. While Punk and Drew McIntyre entered into a very personal rivalry, everything changed at Money in the Bank on July 6 when CM Punk intervened in the match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He attacked McIntyre and gave the victory to Damian Priest. But in turn, he also cost Seth Rollins, who was also part of the match.

This has caused Rollins and Punk to resume their rivalry. While McIntyre is still involved as a part of the feud. This has led many to speculate about this feud and how it could lead to SummerSlam on August 3. WWE continues to plot the SummerSlam card. To date, there are four officially confirmed fights. But there could be a few more in the coming days. One of which would definitely feature the trio. But would it be a triple threat? Or will it feature any other stipulations? Well, here’s what we believe would take place in the Stamford-based promotion’s major PPV.

CM Punk suffered an injury earlier in the year that has kept him away from competition. His aspirations to wrestle at WrestleMania were dashed, and since then, he has fought to recover as soon as possible. As reported by WrestleVotes, CM Punk will be medically discharged on July 29, just five days before the celebration of SummerSlam. With confirmation of Punk being fit to fight, many fans might think that there would be a triple threat between the three wrestlers.

However, Dave Meltzer has reported that a few days ago, he was told by WWE that the plan was for only CM Punk and the Scottish Warrior to fight in a head-to-head contest. Although Seth Rollins could also get involved in the match as a special referee. This will surely lead to chaos for CM Punk, as he is fiercely hated by both Rollins and McIntyre. Making it more like a handicap match for the Cult of Personality. Lessening his chances of grabbing a win in his much-awaited return match at the major event.

A no-holds-barred contest between McIntyre and Punk

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have had an extensive rivalry despite the Chicago wrestler’s injury. Punk helped Damian Priest win the title in the first place after attacking Drew McIntyre after he beat Seth Rollins on WrestleMania. This led Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and get the title. Later on the night of the 2024 edition of Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre won the Money in the briefcase and tried to redeem it the same night against Seth Rollins and Damian Priest. But CM Punk intervened in the triple threat. Helping Damian Priest beat McIntyre and spoiling his sleep.

Have an interesting take?

With frustration building to the core, McIntyre cannot wait to get his hands on Punk and send him back to the hospital like he did a few days ago. But this time, there might be no security to help anyone out, as it might turn out to be a no-holds-barred match. A perfect scenario for the duo to end things once and for all. Irrespective of the interruptions and weapons being used, the one who gets to pin will get all the glory.
