The Undertaker seemingly announced his retirement on the last episode of “The Last Ride” (just too many lasts here). Obviously, it was a moment to grieve for fans worldwide.
No matter how much we said that The Dead Man should retire now, when the moment has finally arrived, it feels like a huge void has been left in the professional wrestling world. Even though Taker said “Never Say Never”, the tweet put up by the WWE later all but confirms that this time the announcement holds weightage.

He had the perfect send off in his last match against AJ Styles where the two battled in a boneyard and Taker even tapped into his iconic biker persona. Fans on Twitter responded by pouring condolences and wishes of good luck for the legend. However, there were also those who were petrified of the possibility that Vince might again call him for a Saudi Arabia show!

As I am sad to hear the retirement of the phenom @undertaker @WWE, I will never forget what him and the character has done. I was bullied in 5th grade but i gathered the courage to stand up to the bully and summoned my inner Undertaker #ThankYouUndertaker

In the beginning, it was The Undertaker's character, mystique, and talent that made him a legend.
For 30 years he didn't want people to see the real man behind the character.
In the end, it was Mark Calaway's humanity that cemented his legacy.#ThankYouTaker #WWE #TheLastRide pic.twitter.com/QOEY4bkJrG

The Undertaker revealed he has no desire to wrestle ever again.
Surely, there’s something symbolic and perfect about Taker going out with a match everyone loved and him riding off on his motorbike literally and figuratively in that same match? pic.twitter.com/JU7K6gvwJT

The Undertaker has announced he is retiring.
Undertaker and how we look at him today is why I hate when athletes come back from retirement.
Instead of celebrating an iconic career, nobody is really sure if he’s actually done and he won’t get the full appreciation he deserves.

The Phenom has been an indispensable part of our childhoods. If this is indeed the end, then it’s actually the end of an era. His legacy has been intertwined with that of the WWE.

For years, The Dead Man has carried the WWE on his back. He stuck with them even when superstars were jumping ship to the WCW in the light of a possible end of the road for the company. More than that, he still continues to appear just because he wants to be of use to the business that gave him so much.
He always had the choice to enjoy his retirement long back, perhaps after his era defining match against Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania. However, when you are the business, it’s always hard to leave. We wish The Undertaker a very happy retirement and thank him for all the beautiful memories over the years.
