Since May 2023, Mercedes Mone has been out of the ring. However, Tony Khan recently said that she will be joining AEW in a few weeks, so the wait seems to be over. Previously, she had also engaged in negotiations with WWE that ultimately failed. Many people said that was because Sasha Banks wanted a lot of money, even more than some of the biggest female WWE stars, including Charlotte Flair. Now, it has come to light that this might not be entirely true.

How much did WWE refuse to pay Sasha Banks?

Mercedes Mone, a former WWE Superstar, is likely to join AEW soon. People are looking forward to her showing up for a big date in Boston. Apparently, WWE was interested in her, but they ran into financial troubles in settling her contract. To be fair, Banks seemed to be asking for more than what the highest-paid star in the Women’s Division was making.

Mercedes Mone made it clear that she wanted to go where the money was, and AEW had a better deal. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Mercedes Mone asked WWE for a lot of money, but it wasn’t more than the top female Superstar is getting. It seems likely that he is talking about Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch since they make the most money in the women’s division at the moment.

“I don’t know her actual money demands, but I know in general what she was looking for from WWE, and it was kinda in the range, and for a star of her caliber, while it would be a little bit more than WWE would be paying her what she was looking for, maybe even more than a little bit more, but it was not more than they pay other women, and she was one of their bigger stars,” he said.
