Are the Lucha Bros making a smart move by considering WWE, or is AEW their true home?

Lucha Bros have been working their magic in AEW since 2019, but it may be about time that they witness a change in scenery. Multiple reports online have been pointing toward the possibility that the masked wrestlers could be leaving Tony Khan‘s promotion soon.

Before you make up an opinion about who could be the reason behind the same, there is nobody to blame as of now. The nature of the business is such that wrestling stars can switch their workplaces for many reasons. Could they finally be headed to WWE?

As per the sources that WrestlePurists have over at AEW, Lucha Bros are expected to leave when their contracts expire this year. Earlier, they were being pitched for a trios world championship match at the upcoming AEW All In that will take place in Wembley on 25th August. However, the plans have reportedly been changed now. According to WrestlePurists, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix have been in talks with WWE while some of their sources also claim that it was merely a formality and they may not be joining the Stamford-based company.

Either way, there is a possibility that the two stars will leave AEW as Pentagón Jr. has already left a hint for us to decipher. Long before the report that you just read, another report came in suggesting Penta’s future outside AEW.

It looks like the Lucha Bros may not be the only two stars leaving AEW soon.

Who else may join the Lucha Bros in leaving AEW behind?

While the Lucha Brothers continue to be on TV and have matches in AEW, Ricky Starks is someone who hasn’t been used on the roster for months now. He once even voiced out how he doesn’t feel good about not being on screen despite being signed to Tony Khan’s promotion. There is not much information available about his AEW contract and when it may be set to expire. However, all signs point toward the possibility that Ricky Starks will leave AEW behind sometime soon. Since the Lucha Bros are reportedly not being booked for All In 2024 like they were supposed to be, their contract may be expiring before the PPV and such is the case with Starks.

Reports have pointed out that if he wishes to extend his stay in the Jacksonville-based promotion, Starks may have to do so before the show in the Wembley Stadium. Amidst all the chaos, there was a specific tweet from a WWE star who openly called out Ricky Starks for a match. This was a likely hint that we may witness him leaving AEW soon and joining WWE instead. If the reports by WrestlePurists also come out to be true, then Tony Khan would have lost some good talents by the end of this month.

Do you think the Lucha Bros will join WWE by any chance? Where would you rather see them if not in AEW?
