The countdown for WrestleMania 40 has started! The upcoming edition of The Showcase of the Immortals will emanate from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mark your calendars as April 6 and 7 will see the biggest WWE superstars take on one another in an effort to enthrall the crowd.
But before the big ticket event, the WWE Universe will witness WrestleMania 40 week. It will also feature the annual Hall of Fame ceremony. For the upcoming WrestleMania 40 week, WWE and its content head Triple H are going bigger with full-capacity arenas.
Over 60,000 spectators are expected on WrestleMania 40 week

The marquee event will take place at the Lincoln Financial Field. However, the Wells Fargo Center will host the ‘WM 40 week’ events. The arena will play host to all three RAW, SmackDown and NXT events during the aforementioned event.
As per reports, the promotion “does not have the usual stage set-up” for the shows. The multi-purpose indoor arena, which is home to the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA, has a capacity of 21,000.

Between April 5 and 8, three shows are expected to draw a total crowd of 63,000. The week by Triple H will kick off with the April 5 SmackDown episode, which will be in conjunction with the Hall of Fame ceremony. NXT’s Stand & Deliver on April 6 is scheduled next. It’ll close with RAW after ‘Mania on April 8. WWE seems keen on leveraging their global audience to outsell their competitors who seem to be nearing their attendance figures.

WWE looks to seize momentum, go big
Earlier this year, AEW’s All In at the iconic Wembley Stadium reportedly smashed the record for the highest number of footfalls with 81,035. That joy was, however, short-lived for Tony Khan and his company. A revised report put the figures at around 73,000, well short of WWE’s record haul of 80,709, which they managed during WrestleMania 32 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The AEW numbers were debunked. It has added more momentum to WWE’s juggernaut and the Stamford-based company has since had a decent run in all their PLEs. It’s setting multiple records during SummerSlam 2023.
The arena size shows also signifies that Triple H is looking to flex his muscles and go big with the shows. Now giving NXT, the developmental brand, another shot in the arm. With fans supporting WWE in the Triple H era, expect the company to churn out good numbers and extend its dominance over its closest competitors.
