LA Knight’s popularity is increasing by the day. The 40-year-old WWE star, who made his debut last year, had received an underwhelming reception from the fans. However, Knight has been able to turn the tables and is now one of the most sought-after wrestlers by the WWE Universe.

But not just WWE, Knight’s now iconic “Yeah” has won fans over at the rival All Elite Wrestling promotion. As a video went viral of AEW fans chanting his name, ‘The Defiant One’ responded to it on social media.

Over the last few years, several WWE talents have left the promotion and found employment in Tony Khan’s AEW. WWE Legends like Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Big Show, and Mark Henry now ply their trade in the rival company. Is LA Knight going to be the next superstar to follow suit?

Knight reacted to the video on Instagram. The original post showed a few fans chanting his name and shouting the”Yeah” in unison. The person captioned it as: “LA Knight is so over even he’s getting chants at AEW events.”

The SmackDown star approved of this gesture and acknowledged it by sharing it on his Instagram as a story. If you’re still not convinced of Knight’s popularity, here’s what transpired earlier this week.

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash gave rise to a controversy when he called out Knight for copying The Rock. Fans were upset with Big Kev’s take on their new favorite star. Unwavering amidst criticism, Nash said on his podcast that he won’t apologize for his comments. However, the nWo legend had to eat humble pie and acknowledge the current superstar.

On the other hand, Knight also kept the proverbial Forbidden Door ajar by choosing to acknowledge the AEW faithful. This surely will mount the tension for Triple H, who wouldn’t want to risk losing the 40-year-old to WWE’s rivals.

Another example of Knight’s growing popularity came just days ago when he managed to go over the entire Bloodline single-handedly. The superstar managed to accomplish the feat without getting physical with Roman Reigns and his cousins.

LA Knight emerges as needle mover despite no main event push from Triple H

Knight’s constant rise and increase in popularity is peculiar in nature. He has achieved what he has even without the WWE giving him a push. There were reports of the company being forced to pipe in fake noises to drown the cheers for him, to keep it synchronized with his heel gimmick, during one show.

Apart from that, he also managed to have more views than The Bloodline in one of the recent episodes of the blue brand. WWE aired the July 7 episode of SmackDown from the iconic Madison Square Garden. The show also had The Usos holding a trial of Roman Reigns at the tribal court. The 30-odd-minute segment raked in huge numbers for the company.

Knight, who was also a part of the show, was involved in a dark segment, which meant that TV audiences couldn’t view his performance. After a protest from fans, WWE released his segment as a digital exclusive and it received more views than all The Bloodline clips of that day combined.

There is no doubt that he is one of the most popular individuals in the company at the moment. But unlike Reigns or Seth Rollins, Knight doesn’t possess any gold. How long will the WWE test his and fans’ patience? Is Triple H leaving it a little too late?
