While the first night of WrestleMania 39 had a surprise appearance of Pat McAfee up its sleeve, the second night wasn’t far behind. It was the return of Shane McMahon that lit up the monumental event. However, any supposed joy would be short-lived as he hobbled down to the backstage area. And Triple H has provided an update on what happened to Shane-O-Mac.
He was last seen in WWE in an appearance at the 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match. McMahon headed to the ring for competing in an impromptu match with Mania host The Miz. But he would accidentally injure himself before competing and Snoop Dogg had to compete in his stead. And now The Game has revealed that the occasional performer suffered from a quad injury during the marquee event.

The chief content officer of the WWE made the comments during the post-Mania presser. He said, “Miz-Snoop, unfortunately, Shane, tearing his quad early in the match, and not that it was gonna be a long match probably you know going down with a torn quad”.
Spectators would have been surprised by the shocking appearance of McMahon. They were looking for him to have a major moment on a special night. However, they would have been disappointed by the eventual outcome.
Little could anyone have predicted that he would suffer the same fate that befell his father Vince McMahon 18 years ago.
Shane McMahon’s father also suffered a similar fate back in 2005
The finish to the 2005 Royal Rumble match saw two of the biggest names in the Stamford-based promotion as the last two competitors.
John Cena and Batista were involved in a major botch which resulted in both men hitting the floor at the same time. With referees deliberating about the outcome then WWE-chairman McMahon stormed to the ring in a fit of rage.
But unfortunately tore both of his quads while entering the ring and sat there helpless while the situation was sorted.
