If you’re going to criticize The Undertaker in any shape or form, be prepared to receive backlash from the top Superstars in the industry. There is not one Superstar in WWE who doesn’t hold him to the highest possible standards.
Now, The Deadman’s Hall of Fame induction was an awaited moment for the industry. At his Hall of Fame induction, he gave a rather moving speech which reduced almost everyone to tears.

Unfortunately, some fans found the speech too long. This criticism wasn’t taken too kindly by some, especially Cody Rhodes.
During his conversation on Out of Character, The American Nightmare gave his two cents on the criticism. He feels whoever found it too long, the speech wasn’t for them.
“The biggest takeaway is he could have gone up there, raise the lights, and tipped his hats and been The Undertaker. And, he gave one other layer in terms of the next layer for him perhaps in terms of helping others, motivation. Someone who has sincerely made it to the top of the mountain. If you are looking on social, and seeing people say things like ‘too long,’ okay, fair. Maybe it just wasn’t for you. I think that speech was more for those who it was intended for.”
The reason it took him a while to finish the speech is because he finally showed everyone the man behind the mask – Mark Calaway. He opened up about his emotions, what others meant to him, and what his career meant to him.

The Deadman wouldn’t ever do that. He would be silent, cold, and distant. However, Mark Calaway isn’t. He wanted the WWE Universe to know him, and the Hall of Fame speech was an excellent way to do it.
WrestleMania 38 was important for The Undertaker and Cody Rhodes
The Deadman made his last WWE appearance at WrestleMania 38. He came out during the event, the WWE Universe cheered at the top of their voice, made an appearance, and went back. He did not talk or cut a promo or work a match. His presence in itself was enough to run chills down the spine!
