Bayley shared her thoughts on Vince McMahon’s retirement
After allegations of hush money surfaced against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, he quietly decided to step down from his position. His daughter Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan have since taken over as Co-CEOs of the company.
With McMahon in day-to-day charge of things in WWE, it was hard to fathom that such a day could ever come. Many current and former WWE superstars have since reacted to McMahon’s retirement. The current leader of the Damage Control faction, Bayley, opened up on her immediate reaction to the news.
On The Five Count podcast, she said she contemplated whether to party or feel weird about the whole situation.
The Role Model said, “It’s still so weird to me. When the news broke that he was retiring, I was just kind of in shock. And it felt like we needed to — I’m like, ‘Do we party, or do we go sit around and sit in our feelings and feel weird?’ It was such a strange feeling.”

The former NXT Women’s Champion also added that this shocking news is discussed backstage even today. She commented, “It still is talked about backstage how different things are and not worse or better, it’s just super different.”
Indeed, it must feel strange for WWE wrestlers used to seeing McMahon running around backstage and ever-present. Since then, Triple H has been in charge of the creative department and has begun shaping the product with his vision.
