Sportsmen are often not made, rather they are born that way. While there are some professional players who discovered their knack in sports late in their lives, some of them probably have had it in their blood since their very childhood. Budding NXT star Zoey Stark is definitely one of them.
The highly talented wrestling lady has done a remarkable job in her very short career span at WWE. Bouncing back after her recent injury, she made her name again. During her initial days in professional wrestling, Zoey won a number of championships in the independent circuit before kick-starting her WWE career in 2021. After debuting with NXT, Stark once clinched the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship titles along with Iyo Sky.
However, the mainstream wrestling world was able to have a glimpse of her on January 2023 when she entered number 13 in her first Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Zoey Stark’s athletic background rooted in her childhood
But long before Stark found her destiny with wrestling, the former NXT Champion was engaged with more than one sport during her childhood days. Recently appearing on Busted Open, Stark spoke about how his engagement with sport helped in shaping her wrestling career as a whole.
When the host asked her about her significant athletic background, the 29-year-old superstar noted, ‘So I played a little bit of basketball for 12 years as a shortstop. So I think that’s where a lot of that comes from. The quick first and having to watch everything. And,… um, but baseball, I did a bit of basketball and some flag football.
She added, “I wanted to do football for a while, but my mom would just not allow me with tackling. So those were really the main sports, but I truly believe baseball is what has helped me for wrestling, knowing how to control my body…”
Zoey Stark is skeptical about her WWE main roster call
While Stark already marked a place in her name in the WWE solely by her extraordinary talent, the popular NXT face seems to be skeptical about her future on the main roster. In the latter part of the same show, Stark didn’t hesitate to admit that she is really insecure and under-confident about the WWE main roster, pretty much because of how stacked it is. So, she tries to avoid the WWE main roster call at any cost.
