Vince McMahon has finally met his match in Tony Khan. The AEW president is really getting on the nerves of Vince McMahon now. Last month, the AEW president was very much vocal after WWE went head-to-head with AEW Rampage for thirty minutes. Well, that was last month. This month, the AEW president has something else to say.
WWE sent shocking waves around the wrestling world after the company released many talented superstars from their roster earlier this month. Though many WWE superstars and legends were unhappy about it, Tony Khan will surely be delighted with this news.

The AEW president will surely sense this as an opportunity to grow his AEW roster. He has already claimed he is interested in a ‘few’ superstars who got released by the company recently. But which superstars is the AEW president interested in?

Tony Khan reveals his thoughts on WWE’s decision to release superstars
Following the latest round of WWE releases, the wrestling world was eagerly waiting to hear from the AEW president. Speaking to Wade Keller of PWTorch, Tony Khan claimed it is terrible when someone loses their job as it not only affects them but also the surrounding people. The AEW president feels each and everyone counts.
Tony said, “I’m going to take a ballpark number, and I’m not trying to make light of everything, but every one counts and this probably not the exact amount, but every time they let, let’s say in the ballpark of 20 people go, I think there have been in general one, two or three people in there that I am interested in and snatch up.” (h/t: Fightful)
The AEW president further revealed that every time WWE makes these mass releases, he gets in a few of the superstars. He believes this gradually makes his company a little stronger. Tony Khan also admitted he is interested in a few of the recently released WWE superstars.

But the AEW president did not reveal the name of the released superstars he is interested in. However, we hope to hear soon from him. However, the released WWE superstars will now have to complete their non-compete clause before we see them in action again.
Previously, we have seen many former WWE superstars making the move from WWE to AEW following their WWE release. One of the biggest examples will have to be Andrade El Idolo.

Andrade got released by the company earlier this year but is now a mainstay of AEW programming. It will be interesting to see who Tony Khan picks from this latest round of WWE releases.
