Tony Khan is popular among internet fans because of his involvement in controversial virtual feuds with various personalities from the pro wrestling industry. Now, he was called out again, indirectly by Bill Goldberg. This happened a few days before the end of April 2024. And now, Tony Khan is ready with a reply to the WWE legend.
Usually, fans witness the President of AEW give a fiery reply to whosoever calls him out or his promotion. This time around, Tony Khan pointed out something ironic about Bill Goldberg’s statement. He exposed the conversations that the two had before the former wrestler’s comment on AEW.

The WWE legend hasn’t been seen in action for quite some time now. AEW had the potential to bring him back into the game, as it did with several other former WWE stars. To top it all off, Goldberg even conversed with Tony Khan about his possible AEW debut several times. Recently, Goldberg revealed that he found the ideas of his AEW debut ‘too cheesy’.
When the President of the promotion was asked to share his thoughts on ‘Superstar Crossover’, he said, “Bill was looking to work here. It’s funny because I had a bunch of really nice meetings with Bill and would have honestly been interested in doing something.”
The way Tony Khan is referring to the past incident, we can assume that he could withdraw his extended arm and not offer Goldberg the same in-ring return that they had earlier discussed.

If you need a testimony for Tony Khan’s words, then you can hear what Goldberg had to say yourself.
Tony Khan was not lying about being in touch with Goldberg
Talking on 93.7 The Ticket, Bill Goldberg was asked to clear out the rumor of his conversations with Tony Khan. This is when the WWE legend revealed that he was, in fact, in touch with WWE’s competitor. “I’ve talked to him a number of times throughout the past. But this is where you’re gonna get the most blunt answer you’re gonna get from me. The product’s too cheesy,” said Goldberg in the interview.

He also added that he would have accepted the offer and made a debut if he had more promotions available to go to. Since he is not active in the industry, he doesn’t want the ‘cheesy’ gimmick to be his last one. Although there were speculations of a feud that Goldberg could have in AEW upon his debut, that seems highly unlikely now following Tony Khan’s reaction to his words.
