One of the most athletic NXT Superstars, Toni Storm, made her main roster debut on this week’s episode of Smackdown. The former NXT UK women’s champion fought Zelina Vega in an impressive contest.
Toni, one of the biggest names in the NXT UK show, was called up to NXT last year as the WWE officials were very much impressed with her performance. WWE revealed Storm as a Smackdown Superstar on July 9 when the brand released a promo video hyping up Storm’s arrival.

A formidable win for Toni Storm on her debut
The crowd in Cleveland gave a warm reception to Toni Storm as she came out to the ring. Zelina Vega, who was waiting in the ring, started the match offensively.
But the bout soon turned out in favor of Toni as she displayed some impressive moves to awe the audience in attendance. Storm, who gained massive momentum towards the match’s climax, won the bout convincingly as she hit Zelina with Storms End.

The fans in the arena gave a huge ovation when Toni was announced as the winner of the match. It was an impressive debut for the former NXT Superstar as she would look to build momentum from this match.
Toni Storm is the latest addition to the list of NXT Superstars called up to the blue brand. Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart were the other NXT Women Superstars who were given a promotion to SmackDown.

How does Toni fit into the Blue brand?
Toni Storm worked at NXT as one of the most infuriating heels. However, she received a significant response from the fans for her role, as she was able to elevate her career to new heights. But it looks like Toni will work as a babyface on Smackdown, and it was indeed evident on this week’s episode of Smackdown.

A particular group of fans has conveyed their resentment on social media, stating that the decision not to continue Toni as a heel on Smackdown was a wrong move from WWE. But Storm has also been a phenomenal babyface during her stint at NXT UK and during the early days of her NXT career.

So, it will be interesting to see how WWE will book the former NXT UK women’s champion in the coming weeks of Smackdown after her imposing victory on her debut.
