With Tonga Loa missing, is the Bloodline's unity starting to crack under Roman Reigns' leadership?

Roman Reigns had another run-in with his precious Bloodline on SmackDown 08/16. At the end of the Friday Night Segment, we saw the former Undisputed Universal Champion put Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga to the ground. However, he got the taste of defeat when Jacob Fatu ambushed him after we thought that the feud had come to an end.

Amidst all the chaos, fans didn’t see Tonga Loa anywhere. He is usually easy for the internet wrestling community to spot because of the botches that he is popular for on screen. But last night, he was nowhere near the camera. Contrastingly, he was present backstage.

Tonga Loa didn’t wish to face Roman Reigns

Last week on the blue brand, Roman Reigns rushed to the scene to take care of The Bloodline 2.0. He laid a beating on the entire crew single-handedly, Tonga Loa included. This week, it seems the former NJPW wrestler was a bit scared to face him, otherwise he could have come out to seize the moment when Reigns was getting brutally beaten up.

A fan uploaded a video where The Bloodline is entering a venue with high-level security, possibly before the 08/16 SmackDown episode. We can see Solo Sikoa entering the premises. Second to him is the right-hand man, Tonga Loa, walking quietly. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga follow, respectively.

Since he was present at the venue, the only explanation we have is that the wrestler was probably injured, or just afraid to show up against the former Head of the Table after what he did to him last week.

Have an interesting take?

He wasn’t the only star who was present backstage but didn’t intervene during the last segment.

Reigns could have gotten help from family

There was a time when Roman Reigns wouldn’t think much of his family members. As the chief of the Anoa’i tribe, he considered himself superior to those around him. This led him to disrespect them which eventually sent Jey Uso on the verge of insanity. The latter put himself back together only to face his older cousin in a tribal combat back at SummerSlam 2023. This was the time when the younger twin left The Bloodline and the blue brand, only to sign with Monday Night Raw and build his personal character, along with a new gimmick. It seems like this has stuck with Jey Uso.

The Main Event star was present at SmackDown on 08/16. He was backstage at the venue but didn’t reveal himself much later in the night. Roman Reigns received a beatdown in the last segment, and walked out of the arena alone, feeling helpless, but even a family member didn’t come to help. Uso was booked for a dark match after the show. This is the reason he was at the venue. Even though he could have intervened, he decided not to. A potential reason being how much he probably hates the ex-Tribal Chief after what went down between them.

What are your thoughts on Tonga Loa and Jey Uso not being part of this segment?
