Are botched moves like Tonga Loa's ruining the WWE experience for long-time fans?

Tonga Loa was the second addition to The Bloodline 2.0 after his sibling was already causing chaos in WWE. He had a surprise entry in the tag team no-disqualification match at WWE Backlash in Lyon, France. Since then, we haven’t seen him perform in the ring apart from helping out his team members to cheat their way to victory. The probable reason why he hasn’t been kept as a performing member is that he appears to be ‘green’ when it comes to in-ring action.

This has been pretty evident from the botches that Loa has been carrying out. The wrestler in question is no stranger to botches. Tonga Loa even botched his entry at Backlash this year. He was supposed to lift the apron and pull the referee down, knocking him out, and preventing The Bloodline rivals from winning via pinfall. However, the internet noticed that the former NJPW star did not get in position in time, missing the timing. The referee had enacted his part to cover for the Tongan talent.

On Friday Night SmackDown 07/12, he accompanied The Bloodline to the ring when they were wreaking havoc. Loa was involved in action when he was trying to assault Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. However, things did not go his way and fans caught yet another botch on live TV. When Cody Rhodes intervened during the rogue Bloodline’s promo, he accepted the new Tribal Chief’s SummerSlam challenge. The reigning champion also added that he would take on the entire heel faction at the moment if things were in his hands.

He was soon encircled by the team, and they eventually got the upper hand on him. When Orton came in to save him, he also got laid down and Tama Tonga started beating him up. This is when Tonga Loa came in trying to move his brother away to punch The Viper himself. The botch happened when he couldn’t punch the WWE legend but instead ended up patting his back.

The WWE viewers were quick to note the error by Tonga Loa and they took to social media to have a good laugh over it.

Tonga Loa does it again

Are botched moves like Tonga Loa's ruining the WWE experience for long-time fans?

Have an interesting take?

This wasn’t the first time that this was happening in July, either. At MITB in Toronto, Tonga Loa intervened during the six-man tag match in which he botched the low blow to Kevin Owens. After becoming a laughingstock on the internet back then, he has done it again. This made a lot of the fans laugh out loud. Many might be thinking that perhaps giving Loa some time will help him improve. However, things haven’t changed since his debut until now and it bothers this fan who commented about how ‘bad’ they think the wrestler is at his job.

This is a valid question with no answers as of yet. However, one possibility is that he is here to fill in for The Wiseman and won’t be performing anytime soon in the future. WWE might even ask him to stay clear of action segments like Paul Heyman to reduce the number of potential botches.

Someone on the internet believes that Haku‘s son was probably not ready for the WWE ring yet. It probably would have worked for the better if the promotion had given him some time to work on himself in its developmental brand. But it seems like The Bloodline is still able to accomplish its goals.

This wasn’t the only botch during the segment that had Tonga Loa’s involvement. This fan comment pointed out that when The Bloodline 2.0 was encircling Cody Rhodes before he started laying a beating on them, Loa kept moving over to a spot but later realized that Tama Tonga was supposed to stand there. So, he had to come back to his original spot again. For the fans who must have noticed it, the immersion may have faded.
