Tonga Loa with McIntyre and Knight—Is this the shakeup WWE needs to dethrone the Bloodline?

LA Knight‘s rapid rise in WWE, from a not-so-long stint in NXT to the top of the SmackDown card, had a small bump in his first stint on WWE’s main roster. In 2022, LA Knight debuted under the character of Max Dupri, alongside the Maximum Male Models faction, which disappointed fans who expected to see him destroy others on the microphone at NXT. Something that changed as soon as Triple H took over the creative power of WWE.

Drew McIntyre too suffered a similar fate, as the Scottish Warrior initially signed with WWE in 2007 and was even labeled the chosen one by Vince McMahon. However, after a great start, his WWE career began to wane. Before he knew it, he found himself relegated to less prominent roles, such as being a part of the comedy group 3MB alongside Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. In June 2014, Drew was released from his contract with WWE.

While everyone knows the story of Tonga Loa by now, before making his debut as a part of the Bloodline, he was Camacho in the WWE and had a tag team with Hunico. But why are we mentioning these three?

Well, because we wish to remind you that there was another run for the three in the realm of pro wrestling. One, where these three superstars actually crossed paths; in fact, they were a team. So when was it, and what was the team? Let’s find out.

A relic of the past showcases the bizarre trio

While many would believe that the three teaming up would be a part of some multiverse theory, that would be far from the truth. As McIntyre, Knight, and Loa actually became a group known as ‘The Rising’ when they appeared in TNA back on April 10, 2015, long before they became the megastars that they are now. The three got together to form a team, and they defeated The Beat Down Clan in their debut.

However, their run as a squad didn’t last long, as, in 2016, Knight turned heel and cost Galloway a match against then-TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III. So far, the three haven’t shared a screen in the WWE, as Knight was involved in a feud with Logan Paul, while McIntyre and Loa are busy with their rivalries with CM Punk and Roman Reigns, respectively.

However, it would be interesting to see if the three get to share screen, and now with the TNA and WWE crossovers, the WWE can surely mention the past faction between the three. And maybe, just maybe, book them together to have a feud with a different group.

However, that seems to be tough. While Knight and McIntyre are solo superstars, Loa is a crucial part of the Bloodline storylines, despite being the headliner of the group for all the wrong reasons. But once the group’s feud with Roman Reigns comes to an end, maybe the WWE will give fans a blast from the part and set a reunion for the Rising. What do you think?
