Tonga Loa in the same league as Hulk Hogan? Is this recognition deserved or just hype?

The new Bloodline has invited a lot of controversy lately. Despite turning the tides with the zeal of unpredictability each week, ever since Sikoa took the chair, the new members seem to end up on the receiving end of the fans. The majority of the fanfare outright rejected the former Right Hand Man as the new Tribal Chief due to his poor selling skills. Also, they slammed the former MLW star Tama Tonga for his oddly fit finisher. Last but not least, Tonga Loa has been getting the most heat, making multiple botches on the TV consistently since his inception in the Bloodline.

The infamous nickname ‘Botcha Loa’ has seemingly turned the most inferior members among all in terms of fame and prowess. However, it seems finally he gets his boost to transcend all the past mistakes. After all, the 31-year-old now stands on the same as Hulk Hogan as unique WWE record surfaces.

Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga clinched the tag team gold, knocking down Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano of DIY in a breathtaking tag team fight. But unfortunately, Fatu couldn’t have the luck to enjoy the glory for long. On SummerSlam 2024, the Samoan Werewolf injured himself in the leg while trying to tackle the American Nightmare to secure the win for his Tribal Chief. It led him to go on a hiatus for a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, Tonga Loa was spotted holding the half-WWE tag team titles. While speculation was rife that the Bloodline would follow the Freebird rule, this didn’t turn out to be the case. Last night on SmackDown, Fatu returned to the title picture holding the gold alongside Tonga. But shortly after, Sikoa ordered him to relinquish it to Loa. Despite showing a bit of reluctance initially, Fatu officially handed it over to Tonga Loa. Sikoa justified his stance, saying Fatu can’t carry out the role of a champion while holding the chair of his personal Enforcer.

However, whatever the reason, the result was a championship transition without a fight in history, something very few people hold the record of. Fatu made it to the list alongside the legendary Hulk Hogan.

The other superstars who graced the list are Asuka, Randy Orton, Triple H, Mick Foley, Ted DiBiase, Jeff Jarrett, Drew McIntyre, etc.

However, despite the record, it seems Loa’s place in the faction is shaking.

What will Tonga Loa’s future be in the Bloodline?

Although Loa has made a series of blunders on TV, WWE didn’t choose to undermine him in any way. Rather, they conferred the gold upon him. Maybe the mindset behind the decision roots for the theory of more attention can help him to hone his skills better.

But this treatment is very temporary and can abruptly change at any point in time. WWE veteran Mark Henry pointed out how The Rock’s return will make Bloodline hysterically competitive and how everybody has to prove their mettle to sustain the faction for longer.

In the case of Loa, he’s in the most vulnerable zone if we believe this notion. And it seems the Florida native knows it the best and hence he’s actively trying to do his part with more accuracy and precision in the recent shows.
