Gunther’s Imperium has been split up after Ludwig Kaiser launched an abrupt attack on Giovanni Vinci, leading them to be a team of 2. To regain their strength, the rumor mills speculated that The Ring general would bring his former rival, Ilja Dragunov into the fold. While no step in that direction has surfaced as of now in the storyline, Gunther didn’t dismiss the notion. That said, it seems a veteran foresaw this possibility before the situation called for it. The star in question is none other than Cody Rhodes.

A random Twitter user brought back an old clip of Rhodes’ Stardust promo to establish the connection.

Gunther has cemented his status as the present and the future of WWE with his current run. He had to bid goodbye to his Intercontinental championship reign in April, but even before he could process the defeat, WWE again pulled him back in the spotlight. He engraved his name in history by winning the King and Queen of the Ring tournament in Saudi Arabia. As per the new tradition, The Ring General also availed a title shot at SummerSlam where he’s supposed to go after the World Heavyweight Championship. But in a different course of reality, he can switch brands to take a shot at Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed Universal title.

And it might come off as their destined clash given what the American Nightmare would like to call it. But this was not the only connection between Cody Rhodes and the Raw star. It turns out the Imperium leader’s impactful debut in Triple H’s promotion has been long-predicted by Rhodes’ infamous gimmick. He foresaw the involvement of former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, too, which is yet to materialize.

The 2016’s clip featured Stardust, saying, ”Imagine me the monarch of the Milky Way, the czar of the cosmos, the emperor of the Imperium Imagine.” The Czar and Emperor reference was clearly an indicator of Dragunov and Gunther, respectively. The fan who posted it couldn’t help but marvel at Rhodes’ words and but insisted that the former AEW star was a time-traveler.

We better believe this long-cooked storyline as WWE veteran Booker T, too, gave his nod to the unseen.

The Russian talent received a blow from Trick William in his final days at NXT. However, a main roster call-up, to some extent, healed the wounds. While he’s currently busy preparing for a head-on bout with Bron Breakker because of saving Ricochet on WWE Raw, Booker T sees something brewing underneath the cover.

The veteran believes that joining forces with Gunther’s Imperium will give him a solid footing in the division.

”Because just being in that faction right there, he won’t get lost in the shuffle or anything like that. He’s really, really good. And you’re going to be looking to see who we can, you know, put him with. Him being a part of that group right there, you can put him against anybody, and he can definitely go out there and shine, no matter who you put him out against because he’s going to have a backup. So, yeah, I could see that happening right there,” Booker T noted on his podcast.
