Saudi Arabia PLE Crown Jewel is just around the corner and WWE has started to gather its top performers for the show. As a result, The Tribal Chief also makes a return to SmackDown after a two-month absence. Roman Reigns’ last WWE appearance was recorded on August 5th when he was super kicked by Jey Uso on SmackDown.
His absence has left The Bloodline vulnerable. So Reigns will return to SmackDown to settle things. However, his return will also bring an opportunity for others to challenge his throne.

Roman Reigns has been the Undisputed Champion for over 30 months now while he has held the Universal Championship for over three years. Despite multiple challenges from the top stars in the company, including Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar, and John Cena, he crossed the 1000-day mark as the champion.
While he makes his return to the Friday show, it may lead to situations that might reveal his potential challengers for Crown Jewel. Let us look at three possible scenarios at this week’s SmackDown show.
1. LA Knight: On the September 15th episode of SmackDown, LA Knight issued a challenge for every title holder in WWE, including Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. But for Fastlane, he teamed up with John Cena to face The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. Before that, he had backstage segments with Paul Heyman as well.
Considering his hype among fans and his lingering issues with The Bloodline, Reigns might address Knight after coming back.
2. John Cena: John Cena teamed up with LA Knight to face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at Fastlane. However, his issues with Reigns and The Bloodline go back before Fastlane. John Cena faced Reigns at SummerSlam 2021 where Reigns successfully defeated Cena. Reigns might confront Cena at SmackDown for Cena’s interference in The Bloodline’s matters.
Considering the trend of Crown Jewel PLE to have high-profile matches, WWE might consider putting Reigns against Cena again.

3. Bobby Lashley: The All Mighty Lashley is a powerhouse on SmackDown. After losing his match against LWO at Fastlane, Lashley might try to set standards for The Street Profits at SmackDown. And Roman Reigns is the highest standard available at SmackDown.
Similar to Reigns, he is working in a three-man stable too. Hence, his stable might be a good match for The Bloodline.
