RAW fans were all pumped up when Jey Uso joined the brand last month. And they were even more excited when Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso won the tag titles from The Judgment Day at Fastlane. But within just 10 days, the duo lost their titles back to The Judgment Day leaving fans totally shocked.

So here are 3 possible reasons why the WWE took the tag titles away from Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.

1. Both have their own stories to go after

Fans thought that Rhodes and Uso would go on to become one of the greatest tag teams ever in the history of the WWE. Sadly, their title run came to an abrupt end just 10 days later courtesy the sneak attack by Jimmy Uso on RAW last week. But it all makes sense as both these superstars have bigger solo storylines to complete in the WWE.

Which they might not be able to do as a tag team. Rhodes was confronted by Roman Reigns last week on SmackDown which led the fans to speculate that a rivalry between the 2 behemoths was on the cards. Maybe this is just the build-up for a title match at Wrestlemania 40 between Rhodes and Reigns. Also, Jimmy Uso has been a thorn in the side of Jey Uso for a long time now. So he also needs to be put in place, which might culminate in a brother vs brother match at Wrestlemania 40.

2. Creating early buzz and fan engagement before WrestleMania 40

WWE always makes sure that its storylines get enough time to properly build up and create enough excitement for the fans. As in the case of past iconic storylines like Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon or even Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes in recent times. Hence, taking the tag titles away from fan favorites could be to ensure that their solo storylines get enough time leading to their showdown at WrestleMania 40.

In the case of Rhodes, it’s a championship match at Wrestlemania 40 that the whole WWE universe has been eagerly praying for ages. Post Crown Jewel, Reigns might divert his attention to Rhodes, thus reigniting their old rivalry and giving fans exactly what they want. Similarly, Jey Uso against Jimmy Uso is a match that only seems apt after the latter costs Jey Uso his championship wins twice. Jey Uso made a surprise appearance on SmackDown last week and thrashed Jimmy Uso. This might just be the start of a long feud between the two Uso brothers, which will lead to a Tribal Combat match at Wrestlemania 40.

3. The Judgment Day deserves the tag titles more to solidify their heel status

Ever since their formation in 2022, The Judgment Day has gone on to become the most dominant faction in the WWE. Second only to The Tribal Chief’s Bloodline. All this has mainly been possible because of the combined effort of all members of the villainous faction. At the start of the year, Ripley was the only member to hold a championship title in the group. Later Dominik Mysterio won the NXT North American Championship, obviously with some assistance from The Judgment Day. Then finally Damian Priest and Finn Bálor beat Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at Payback to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

After that, each member of The Judgment Day had a championship belt around their waist. Thus proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the WWE. When every member of a faction has a title belt, it just elevates their status in the WWE and immediately brings them to the top of the wrestling food chain. Thus giving the titles back to The Judgment Day just seems part of the mega plan of making them the biggest heel faction in the history of the WWE.
