The Judgment Day is currently undergoing turmoil of its own. With power struggles going on between the two alpha males of the stable- Finn Balor, and Damian Priest, fans are expecting a showdown at the upcoming WWE Payback PLE.
The theory has received credence with Balor’s successive loss at the hands of Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes due to Damian Priest’s involvement. The Prince might have had enough. Despite being one of the most dominant factions on the main roster at the moment, the two Judgment Day members are yet to find a common ground. The group has been plagued by a constant battle of ego and power struggles between Balor and Priest.
With repeated losses at the hands of Rollins because of Priest’s interference, Balor is slowly detaching himself from the faction. His recent loss against Cody Rhodes also involved Damian Priest and his cursed briefcase. The losses against Rollins in particular has taken away the chance of a retribution, that Balor had promised a few weeks ago.
At Payback 2023, fans are expecting Cody Rhodes to go toe-to-toe against Finn Balor. They also believe Mr. Money In The Bank to cost his teammate the match. This would finally make Balor reach his breaking point and attack Priest, causing the faction to break.
While, Priest might remain with The Judgment Day as one of its founding members, Balor might be alone, and would look to find his own purpose.
WWE might have a new direction planned for Finn Balor
Similar to Seth Rollins last year, Finn Balor is currently on a losing streak. While, Rollins put everyone over in 2022 before finally getting his dues paid, Balor has been doing the same currently. With his continuous losing streak, fans wonder if WWE has something good planned for him ahead.
Balor turning on Priest would open up new opportunities for the former. He could venture out on his solo run again, and remain a tween figure. Him turning on Priest, would further lead to a rivalry between the two for the future PLEs.
On the other hand, Balor might have found an apprentice. His breakup with The Judgment Day could lead to the formation of a new faction.
Finn Balor might team-up with JD McDonagh to form a revamped version of The Judgment Day
JD McDonagh’s recent call-up to the main-roster saw him rise to the occasion. An initial rivalry with Dolph Ziggler, and his current involvement with Finn Balor and The Judgment Day is taking a good turn. McDonagh and Balor have a history between themselves, and him siding with the former NXT Champion would make a lot of sense.
