Earlier this year, in January, Cody Rhodes returned from a torn peck injury he suffered last year. After his arrival, he won the 30-men Royal Rumble match. Thus he became the No.1 contender for Roman Reigns‘ WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. This marked the onset of their rivalry.

He was unsuccessful in defeating ‘The Tribal Chief’ to win the coveted gold at WrestleMania 39. However, fans were hoping it won’t be the end of his story. However, a turn of events occurred when he had to shift his attention to Brock Lesnar, who ambushed him on Raw after WrestleMania.

This left the WWE Universe mad and his unfinished story in jeopardy. But a recent statement from Sami Zayn hints that there might be still a chance that the stars will rekindle their feud soon in the upcoming months.

‘Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns’ is not done, says Sami Zayn

Speaking to Mark Andrews on My Love Letter to Wrestling, Sami Zayn commented on what he thinks about Rhodes’ unfinished story. He confessed that, personally, he would have loved to see him defeat Reigns at The Showcase of Immortals this April.

However, that didn’t happen. But he firmly believes that the storyline has not reached its conclusion yet. And the two stars will continue their feud in the future. He said, “I do think, strictly from a story perspective, it would have been great to see Cody (Rhodes) put a bow on it (by defeating Roman Reigns), but it’s still building.”

For a long time, ‘The Underdog from the Underground’ has been trying to crumble ‘The Bloodline’ empire into pieces. He had an unsuccessful attempt to dethrone ‘The Head of the Table’ at the WWE Elimination Chamber. But he thinks Rhodes will be the one to get the job done. His comments caught the attention of fans and they were quick to react to it online.

Surely fans were rooting for ‘The American Nightmare’ to continue his pursuit of defeating ‘The Big Dog’ and winning his titles. But WWE put a major roadblock (i.e. ‘The Beast Incarnate’) on his way to success. After reading Zayn’s comment, fans believe he has a deep knowledge of how the storyline will unfold.
