Fastlane 2023 was not a good PLE for The Judgment Day. The self-proclaimed “most dominant group” in the WWE failed to retain their Undisputed Tag Team gold. Taking on Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes, Finn Balor, and Damian Priest lost the titles after chaos broke out near the end of the match.

Despite the entire Judgment Day coming out to help Balor and Priest, the two could not hold on to the gold. One 33-year-old claims to know why the team lost. It was the “cursed” MITB briefcase.

Since then, McDonagh has been showing his loyalty to the group in hopes of being recruited. However, his attempts have been in vain as something always went wrong whenever he tried to help the team. This led to Priest not trusting the man who gifted him his new MITB briefcase.

At Fastlane 2023, McDonagh would attempt to help the group once again. During the end of the match, the remaining members of the group would attack Rhodes and Jey. However, it would be McDonagh’s unsuccessful attempt to hit Rhodes with the briefcase that would lead to Jey and Rhodes winning the tag titles.

McDonagh’s attempts to help the faction cost Priest twice in a row

As mentioned earlier, this was not McDonagh’s first attempt to help The Judgment Day. During Rhea Ripley‘s absence from an episode of RAW, Priest was left in charge. During an encounter with Rhodes and Jey, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens, Priest got the group back away. However, when McDonagh came out with steel chairs to even the numbers, the group moved forward without Priest.

Despite having steel chairs at their disposal, JD could not handle Rhodes and Co. This led to Priest entering the ring to help his mates, leaving him as the only one in the ring. This resulted in Priest being attacked by Rhodes and Co.
