The newly formed tag team of Cody Rhodes‘ and Jey Uso is all set to go after gold at WWE Fastlane next week. Ever since The American Nightmare helped Jey Uso find his footing in the red brand, the pair has bonded well. Their goals also lie hand in hand as they aim to dismantle The Judgement Day.

On last week’s episode of Raw, when Rhodes saved Uso in the face of a seething Judgement Day attack, Adam Pearce made their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship bout against Finn Balor and Damian Priest official. However, their path to the championship is highly likely to be jeopardized if Kevin Owens’ frustration is in play. Let’s explore that possibility a bit.

Could Kevin Owens’ wrath be a game-changer during Cody Rhodes-Jey Uso’s title fight at Fastlane?

WWE is possibly planning a massive push for the 39-year-old star and it could mean a heel turn for him. Kevin Owens has been a face for 400-plus days. He has consistently played the good guy role after wrapping up his heel turn on the August 8, 2022, episode of WWE RAW.

Weeks ago, when Rhodes planted the Right-Hand man in Raw, it clearly didn’t sit well with KO. Understandably so as he held grudges against The Bloodline for launching a tirade of attacks against him and Zayn.

Capitalizing on that momentum, Owens hinted at his heel turn at Fastlane, showing clear disgust on the subject of the Cody Rhodes-Jey Uso duo and their impending title fight. So, it will not be eerie if his problematic equation with Jey Uso costs the latter the win alongside Cody Rhodes at Saturday’s PPV.

However, the other half of the tag team, Sami Zayn, seemingly has different thoughts on Jey Uso.

Sami Zayn might not be on Kevin Owens’ side if he turns heel on Jey Uso at Fastlane

Despite his tag teammate holding a dramatically opposite opinion about the Jey Uso -Cody Rhodes alliance, Zayn didn’t resonate with his feelings.

The former Bloodline member revealed that he was happy about Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso joining the force against The Judgment Day. He also addressed them as his good friends and wished the best for them.

However, at the same time, Zayn noted he couldn’t be happy with how the situation turned out, as he still feels they are the only claimants of the coveted tag team championships.

Owens and Zayn had clinched the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year, taking down The Usos in a tiff fight. Later, they had to give it up to Priest and Balor at Payback, due to the thwarting interference of JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio. The same threat stopped them from retaining the title at a rematch at the September 25th edition of Raw.

Now it will really be cool to see if Owens retaliates and costs Uso and Rhodes the title out of sheer frustration and if it affects his relationship with Zayn in any way.
