There is no man better suited to make the DCEU relevant again than Dwayne Johnson. He has shown off his charisma and skills in the wrestling ring, action flicks, and entrepreneurship, as well as in producing movies. But now, once again, he is stepping out of his usual sphere. It is not just WB and DC movies that are taking a colossal risk by giving Johnson such freedom, but The Rock himself is carrying a lot of pressure due to one movie.

While previously he could move on after a forgettable movie or two, this time the stakes couldn’t be higher. Black Adam is supposed to serve as a reintroduction of the DCEU after the colossal failure of the Justice League. While Joker and Batman may have restored the brand a little relevancy, they were not connected to the main timeline. But this movie is supposed to deliver that sort of clear path forward. Adding to that, this Black Adam producer has more plans for The Rock.
Black Adam producer reveals plans for Dwayne Johnson after the movie’s release
Recently, while talking to EW, the producer of Black Adam, Hiram Garcia, opened up about the plans after Black Adam’s release. He mentioned, “It’s never been about a one-off or just about a fight. No, it’s about so much more than that. We really want to craft a long form of storytelling and show that these two characters exist in the same universe and are going to have to deal with each other often, either on the same or opposite sides.”
“Hopefully, they’re going to clash at some point, but it’s not just about a ‘one fight’ situation. That was never our dream. That does not reward the fans. Fans want to feel a journey between these guys, knowing that these guys exist in the same universe.”

This comment means two things: One, Johnson is going to be Black Adam for a whole slew of movies, not just one or two sequels to Black Adam. Also, the heads at WB are thinking of expanding the DCEU quite a bit to make room for never-before-seen villains and heroes in live-action movies. While opposing sides are easy to decipher, as Black Adam is a part of the group, League of Villains; the harder part is figuring out the same sides. This could mean that DCEU is planning to bring Brainiac or Darkseid, world-ending threats to the forefront already.
