“They Were Text Buddies”- Dwayne Johnson’s Actual Friendship With $225 Million Star Revealed That Media Failed To Capture in 12 Years

In Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson is popularly known for his many friendships. From Kevin Hart, Ryan Reynolds, and Jason Momoa to Emily Blunt and Gal Gadot, Johnson is a friendly figure to many. But it doesn’t mean that he hasn’t had his fair share of enemies in the industry as well.

But one rivalry with a popular star that the media highlighted actually turned out to be a long-standing friend of The Rock. Capitalizing on this overlook by the media, the director of Fast X is going to create the duo’s return on the big screen in the next movie.

The media failed to capture this Dwayne Johnson friendship all these years

Talking to Comicbook.com, the director, Louis Leterrier, opened up about his sequel to the Fast X movie. One of the biggest shocking events from the first movie was seeing Dwayne Johnson returning to the franchise. Given the past between the franchise’s lead, Vin Diesel and Johnson, no one thought that The Rock would return. But according to Leterrier, their connection was opposite to what everyone knows.

He commented, “I just like the idea of them coming back together. What I realized – I’m like you, I was a fan reading – they’ve been talking all along. They were like text buddies wishing each other ‘Happy Birthday,’ and ‘Merry Christmas.’ But being in each other’s life… I was lucky to be able to work with Dwayne that one day and possibly more looking forward.”

The Rock left the Fast franchise after issues with Vin Diesel and even denied coming back to the movies despite the $225 million Hollywood star’s public plea. However, it seems both stars are ready to move past their history and entertain the fans together. Johnson joined the popular franchise in 2011 and it seems the media captured animosity between the two rather than focus on the friendship the two shared all this time.

With so much history between them, seeing both on-screen would unite a lot of people to come back to the franchise. But knowing Johnson, he isn’t just involved with the main franchise but way more than that.

But Johnson is not only focusing on the upcoming sequel to Fast X. If rumors are to be believed, Johnson is already heavy on the work for another spin-off Fast movie. This time though he’s tagging along with the newbie, Jason Momoa and also returning, Gal Gadot.

After the success of Hobbs and Shaw, the producers already have a lot of trust in Johnson to give them another hit movie. With returning to Fast X-2 and this new spin-off, Johnson is again involved with another big franchise and his fans will be eager to see him alongside Vin Diesel soon.
