What makes pro wrestling different from any other form of sport is the incorporation of storylines. While wrestlers put their bodies on the line, performing real stunts, the results of the bouts are largely predetermined. This allows followers to get hooked on the product as they are always searching for ‘what’s next’. To supplement the storylines, wrestlers often take the help of promos.

These are verbal duels that involve opponents and set the tone for a storyline. While the wrestlers practice most promos, to avoid hiccups during the live take, some hit harder and feel more personal at the time of the delivery. Rhea Ripley, who has cut some sharp promos and has been on the receiving end of others, recently opened up about real-life problems arising from storylines.

The Aussie superstar was a guest at the Breakfast with Allan and Carly program and spoke to the eponymous hosts. They asked her if a storyline had ever gotten personal and how she handled it. Ripley said it hasn’t been too bad.

She said she’s aware of the personal details about her opponents and knows what to say to get a reaction. Ripley said, “… I know what will get them revved up and what will get them to the point where they wanna beat the living c**p out of me.” The Judgment Day member, however, said she invites the same and has no hard feelings while hearing it from her opponents.

“… you say what you say in the moment, and you do what you do in the moment, but we leave it all out there,” the 27-year-old said. As stated above, Ripley’s outspoken words have introduced constant trash talking to her opponents, irrespective of their gender.

Recently, she was heard telling Shayna Baszler to get out of the ring, during the October 9 episode of RAW. That, however, backfired on her as The Queen of Spades suplexed her and followed up the attack with a brutal knee kick, laying waste to the champion.

Fans can now expect Rhea Ripley to say some words during the October 16 episode of the flagship brand. The storyline could also take a turn and set up a big match in Saudi Arabia.

WWE likely to announce a mega match featuring Ripley at Crown Jewel

The annual Crown Jewel PLE takes place on November 4 in Saudi Arabia. The PLE could showcase Ripley placing her Women’s World Championship on the line as she goes up against multiple opponents.

Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez had been feuding for a long time. However, that rivalry took a unique form as Nia Jax gatecrashed the party by ambushing both superstars. Jax’s former tag team partner Shayna Baszler also got herself involved last week. This now brings up the conundrum of making the rivalry a four-way contest.
