In a sport like pro wrestling, fans are one of the most crucial ingredients. While other competitive sports require fans to be quiet or work as a background, wrestling needs them to shout and respond. From promos on the mic to athletic displays during a ladder match, everywhere fan involvement is a must and Becky Lynch understands this.
The former RAW Women’s Champion is a testament to how a wrestler becomes an icon in less than a day, just through the reactions of a live audience. But most people who don’t follow wrestling find this hard to digest.
Unlike other mainstream sports, pro wrestling has a script and storylines, so people tend to think of wrestling as ‘fake’, which is not entirely true. Thus, people think of wrestling fans as not being that intelligent to react honestly to a scripted show, but that is not the case.

After the host calls wrestling fans ‘Eegits’, Becky Lynch explains their importance
On The Tommy Tiernan Show, Becky Lynch appeared as a mystery guest. The mystery guest element of the show doesn’t just limit to the audience, even Tiernan doesn’t know who the guest will be. So, the host naturally had some questions for Lynch regarding her character and pro wrestling itself.
After hearing about Lynch’s surprising climb to the top, Tiernan marked wrestling fans as ‘Eegits’, an Irish phrase for idiots. But Lynch responded, “I love that they’re so invested that they’re cheering and standing up in their seats. They’re the third scene partner, they are part of the act… The largest audience I’ve performed in was 100,000. A 100,000 eggits as you would say, definitely not. That was in Dallas.”

By the third scene partner part, Lynch meant that wrestling fans are inseparable from the action going on in the ring. Just like there is a character responding to the actions in a movie, fans are there to show their love or hate for the actions happening in front of them. It is surreal and also what makes wrestling fans die hard when it comes to the sport.
How did The Man become the face of the WWE?
After turning on Charlotte Flair in 2018 Lynch went on a spree. Not only did she rebel against the whole system, but she tore down the house with her matches against Flair and Sasha Banks.

Also, her feud with Ronda Rousey was the reason that WWE could put on a women’s match as the WrestleMania main event. But that wasn’t all. Lynch continuously reinvented herself after coming back to the ring in 2021.
She had amazing feuds with Lita and Bianca Belair and is going to have another WrestleMania match tagging with legends like Lita and Trish Stratus against Damage CTRL. She isn’t stopping anytime soon, and neither are her fans.
