The Women’s division’s evolution has taken the WWE Universe by storm ever since its inception in 2015. Before that, however, there was a long period in the promotion’s history when female superstars were not at the forefront. The female wrestlers would largely feature on the undercard. There were exceptions with female wrestlers such as Chyna showing their in-ring mettle during the famous Attitude Era. The Ruthless Aggression Era that followed saw the advent of many male superstars like John Cena, Randy Orton, and Edge.

There were very few female wrestlers that left a mark during this period. However, a famous female duo entertained the masses with their wrestling talents.

The twins were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021 as part of the 2020 class. And the wrestling community has been divided about whether they deserve to feature in the best of the bests that WWE has to offer. John Cena Sr., the father of WWE legend John Cena was on the Boston Wrestling MWF podcast along with the host Dan Mirade in 2021. The two were rating the credentials of the 2020 and 2021 Class of Hall fame.

John Cena Sr. rated the Bella twins’ Hall of Fame induction

During the show, The Bella twin’s induction was brought up by the host Mirade. He went on to say, “They contributed nothing but poor promos, poor skits, poor matches, poor everything. Cena Sr seemed to agree as he said, “I think you said it all”

However, he went on to praise the twins on a personal front “I’ll say this on the human side outside of the business you couldn’t ask for better people from mom to the girls. Just good decent human beings. In the ring, I think there’s a different persona.”

The Cena clan is not new to the Bellas as John Cena was previously engaged to Nikki Bella. The pair had been dating for 5 years until Cena proposed to Bella after their WrestleMania 33 victory over power couple Miz and Maryse. However, in 2018, the couple confirmed their engagement had been called off and the two went their separate ways since.

But the sisters did show a tremendous improvement in the ring during their time with WWE. Also, arguably may have had a tiny part in bringing the Women’s revolution to the promotion.
