“There Was Just No Relationship”: Hulk Hogan Clears the Air on Having Real-Life Heat With Stone Cold Steve Austin While Working Together in WCW

To elevate WWE where it is today, the efforts of several legends were needed. And two of those well-known faces are undoubtedly Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Every wrestling fan would know about their decorated pro wrestling careers. But do you know how these two get along with each other with the rumors of real-life heat? Well, there’s an interesting story attached to it. 

There’s no denying the fact that Hogan, and Austin changed the pro wrestling business. And thus, rose to become the popular names that people still can’t forget. However, there were rumors of the two not getting along with each other that well while working together in WCW and many people believe that carried on in their WWE run.

Hulk Hogan cools the rumors of a rivalry with Steve Austin

Speaking on The MMA Hour recently, The Hulkster commented on his relations with The Texas Rattlesnake. He took his fans on a flashback from their time in WCW and detailed how things were for both the stars at that time. 

Hogan said, “When he was in WCW, he was with Brian Pillman and they were teamed up as Hollywood Blonds and I was so focused on trying to get Ted Turner’s company to where it needed to.” 

This information by Hogan highlights the priorities of the two legends at their time in WCW. While one was focused on the main event scene and already a star, Austin was establishing himself as a tag team wrestler.

Adding to that, Hogan gave an honest answer that cools the rumors of his heat with Austin.  He added, “I don’t know if there was any heat, there was just no relationship.”

This one statement of The Hulkster in itself clarifies the years-long rumors of their real-life heat. Although, it’s true that Hogan passed on some controversial comments on Austin. However, there seems to be no real-life heat between the two. But then, how did they bond?

Story of Hogan and Austin’s bond

In the podcast, Hogan shed some light on how he and Steve Austin first connected. This is surely one of the stories that wrestling enthusiasts would love to hear about. 

So, as The Hulkster recalled, the story starts from the time when Austin “became the main event guy”. This gave rise to fans talking “crap” about Hogan and Austin. But the fun part comes later. 

Hogan further added, “So, finally, Steve and I met somewhere, I can’t remember where was that, and we just started laughing about it, we never talked to each other before, and we just get along great from that point on.”

Yes, you read it right. Two of the most well-known wrestlers have never had a conversation for a long time. And reports talked about their heat. However, now the truth is out there, we hope to see more of Hogan and Austin together.
