

The Undertaker is perhaps the most iconic character of all time. From Taker’s entrance to his unique fighting moves, everything makes him a superstar of a different genre. Mark Calaway has done justice to the character all along. But a WWE legend, claimed that The Deadman’s character wouldn’t be as popular without him.
The Undertaker’s character is among the most frightening gimmicks in WWE. Every time ‘The Deadman’ entered the arena, it literally gave goosebumps to everyone sitting there. Everyone is familiar with the story of Mark Calaway and how Vince McMahon created the character according to his persona. But Taker’s old adversary discarded the stories.

Jake Roberts, the WWE Hall of Famer, recently revealed a staggering backstage story of The Undertaker, and him. In his DDP Snake Pit podcast, Jake the Snake made this revelation. According to Roberts, he helped Taker in shaping the character into what it is today.

Jake the Snake said, “Without me, there is no Undertaker without me. There is no Steve Austin. I even helped Shawn Michaels as much as I could.” But Roberts left the promotion after he felt betrayed by McMahon.

Jake Roberts stated that Vince McMahon promised him a certain position in creative which he didn’t get. “I’d had a meeting with Vince McMahon and told him that I was quitting. He had broken too many promises to me. He had promised me a certain position that I wanted.”

Roberts also explained how the terrifying Undertaker turned into a baby face because of him. According to Jake the Snake, his turning heel helped Taker in turning into a baby face. “If you look back to anybody turning baby face for being a strong heel. It’s an overnight click. It’s like you’ve set the whole thing. The Bonfire is going. It’s there. All we had to do was walk through the fu**ing ring.”
