WrestleMania 39 is certainly more special, with John Cena being a pertinent part of it. Arguably the greatest superstar of WWE’s Ruthless Aggression era has been quite less frequent in the squared circle in the past few years as his burgeoning Hollywood career began to take over. But WrestleMania 39 is all different.
As all of us know, Cena is set to fight the current US Champion Austin Theory in the grandest stage of them all. With all the excitement and buzz hovering around, WWE has recently announced that Cena vs Theory will open WrestleMania night 1 on April 1. While this announcement didn’t sit well with the majority of the fans who expected Cena to be in the main event, it seems like the Cenation leader takes it as a major hint of destiny.

John Cena has had an illustrious history of headlining five WrestleMania main events during his heyday. Days before getting his feet back to his roots, the wrestling icon recalls his first-ever WrestleMania appearance in 2004 and it includes a unique coincidental connection with his spot at this year’s mania.
WrestleMania 20 featured Cena vs Big Show as the opening match of the event and everybody witnessed the result. Cena won over Big Show in his WrestleMania debut match. 19 years later, again, Cena is there on the opening card of the biggest show. Will history repeat itself at SoFi Stadium this Saturday? Well, the 16-time WWE World Champion hopes so.
Reflecting on the similarity between the two WrestleMania events, the Champ wrote on Twitter,
‘ First match, #WrestleMania 20,
@TheGarden
.
The first match, #WrestleMania 39,
@SoFiStadium
.
Then. NOW. Forever.’

However, no matter how much the Never Give Up’ vibe Cena brings to the table, his 25-year-old opponent is also not someone to give up easily. Theory is surely ready to go all out of his way to retain the US Championship title in a dream match against his childhood hero.

Austin Theory made a cocky claim involving John Cena
Theory, who earlier shared his plan to replace Cena’s homegrown energy in a special way, has recently sent a chilling threat to Cena, saying he doesn’t need any crowd to cheer him up at all. On this week’s Monday night Raw episode, Theory cut a promo in a hollow space with no one watching him. He chose the place to represent his underlying thought of not caring about the crowd. He mentioned that crowded arenas and empty arenas, both of them make similar sense to him. Then he warned Cena about not being able to see the future, referring to himself. He also vowed to make the Cenation leader believe in his supremacy after their bout in mania.
However, time will be the only deciding factor of whether Theory’s cocky claim will come out false or Cena’s meaningful hint will go in vain. Until this Saturday, we can only wait and let time play its own game.
