For three decades, The Undertaker has entertained generations of wrestling fans. In fact, many superstars on the current roster grew up watching the ‘Deadman’ eviscerate his opponents. Something worth mentioning is how ‘The Deadman‘ has been loyal to WWE/F and stayed there for all of his career.

His tenure in the company established Mark Calaway as a legend and influenced WWE’s global dominance. His loyalty is respected in the world of sports entertainment. This loyalty to the company gave him have an exceptional relationship with WWE’s CEO, Vince McMahon.

In a recent interview with New York Post, ‘The Phenom’ revealed quite a lot about his relationship with Mr. McMahon and how the Boss is in real-life. There are a lot of rumors about McMahon’s larger-than-life demeanor outside the squared circle.

Undertaker described Vince as “a caring human being” and “not the monster that people think he is.” Undertaker never took for granted the “special opportunity” WWE gave ‘Mean Mark’ 30 years ago. The decisions to come back were always his.

He described, “If Vince feels like there’s still something there, I have a place on the roster, then I had no problem doing it,” he said. “That’s where the internet and all that stuff kind of show up, ‘Just let him retire, just let him do this, let him do that.’ I’m a grown man. I can walk away anytime I want.”

The Undertaker was nervous during his debut in WWE

Before he became the Undertaker in WWE, Mark Calaway was “Mean Mark” Callous of WCW. When Bruce Prichard and Vince McMahon picked him and put him into the Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase’s team at Survivor Series, ‘The Phenom’ was as nervous as he could be.

“Don’t walk too fast; don’t walk too slow. I’m trying to think about my presentation. I don’t have it yet,’” he recalled thinking. “I’ve only done this a couple of times in this character, so I’ve got all of those thoughts going through my head.

“It’s like, ‘don’t trip, don’t fall, don’t stumble, don’t get your foot caught getting in the ring, don’t let your hat fall off.’ Everything you could think of possible things that could go wrong, you’re thinking in your head, please don’t [let that] happen to me.”

However, his debut was a huge success, and he captured his first world title one year later. He won his first WWE Championship at Survivor Series from none other than Hulk Hogan. The rest is history.

At this year’s Survivor Series (coincidentally the same date as Undertaker’s debut), WWE celebrates ‘The Phenom’s Final Farewell. He is expected to make one final appearance before bidding goodbye to the WWE Universe. Taker had his last match at this year’s WrestleMania against AJ Styles, which he won.
