The Undertaker has played a very specific character for most of his WWE career. This character ruled the paranormals, came up from hell itself, and wouldn’t die even if burned alive.
Taker’s character was one straight out of a horror movie. However, the question is – was the man behind the character fond of horror movies?
Mark Calaway, the man behind The Undertaker’s character, revealed what he thought of horror movies during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“Well, are you kidding me? You know, early on when I was doing this character, I mean that was my study. I mean that’s what I studied, I could have told you anything about Jason Voorhees or Micheal Myers, Freddy Krueger, or you know, any of those guys. Because, I watched all that stuff and looking at the way they handled themselves and the little nuances and yeah. Even as a kid, I liked scary stuff and it was destined to be.”
Well, it’s great that he liked horror movies, because he definitely understood the assignment and gave stunning results. To this day, The Deadman remains one of the unique WWE characters.

Will The Undertaker return to the ring?

The Phenom retired from WWE at Survivor Series 2020, thirty years after playing the character. But, he was asked if that was actually the last of The Undertaker in the ring.
“As of this moment; yeah my days in the ring are done. And it’s not because I don’t want to be in the ring. I mean, that is where I’ve spent most of my adult life. My whole life really. More than half my life has been spent in the wrestling or sports entertainment ring. So, in my mind, I still can see everything and in my heart I want to be out there. But, it’s just at a point where my body can’t deliver what my mind and my heart see. I don’t want to cheapen the legacy of that character and I’d hate for people to pay money to see me work and be disappointed.”
