Will The Rock's return overshadow Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, or will Reigns steal the spotlight?

Cody Rhodes finally finished his story at WrestleMania XL, putting an end to the WWE’s storyline that featured a rivalry between Roman Reigns and the American Nightmare. Cody Rhodes became the WWE champion, but he was defeated by The Rock on the first day of the event. Despite Rhodes’ victory, there is still that open wound between the two competitors, something that was reinforced on the Monday Night Raw show after WrestleMania XL.

From that point on, there has been speculation about what could happen in the main event of the next edition, including that match between Cody Rhodes and The Rock for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, the end of Rhodes’ “Finish my story” storyline also became the catalyst for what was next to come. As Solo Sikoa has emerged as one of the biggest threats in the promotion through the complete makeover of the Bloodline by removing Heyman and Jimmy Uso to make space for Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Thus giving Rhodes a new rival to conquer.

This new beast has also given rise to a new storyline for Roman Reigns as well, since he would now return to reclaim the throne as the head of the table. Possibly marking his return at SummerSlam. But since Rhodes is busy with Sikoa and Reigns too would be aiming for his cousin, where does the Rock go into the mix? Well, according to the guys at Busted Open Podcast, the Rock and Reigns would likely end up in a feud against one another but it all depends on the main event of SummerSlam. In fact, the main event’s results would be chosen to fit the Rock and Reigns storyline.

Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray got into a discussion where they talked about the possible result of the main event at SummerSlam and why it is possible that Cody Rhodes might end up losing despite everyone’s belief that he would retain his title. The duo discussed, “When Roman does come back, there are going to be questions. And a lot of those questions is going to be, where does Roman stand? Because there’s still going to be the return of somebody else. And that is The Rock. The Rock is coming back at some point as well. Which makes it very interesting about what’s going to take place on Saturday.”

“And really, on paper, you look at Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa for the undisputed WWE Championship, and it sounds like a no-brainer that Cody Rhodes is going to defend his title at SummerSlam. But I’m not too sure. Based on what we may see on Saturday. And moving forward as we get closer to WrestleMania 41.” Well, it seems like the storyline is getting more complex. Truly proving how the WWE is giving their best to build up for the next WrestleMania. But what is most likely to be the main event fight at WrestleMania?

It seems that the bookmakers have begun to speculate about that fight. But the result of the first odds indicates that the fight with the best chance of taking place is the fight between The Rock and Roman Reigns. On the way to WrestleMania, The Rock and Roman Reigns had an intense confrontation on SmackDown. After Cody Rhodes ceded the position of contender for the Undisputed Universal title to The Rock.

Will The Rock's return overshadow Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, or will Reigns steal the spotlight?
