It is safe to say that Dwayne Johnson is the biggest superstar that came out of WWE. The Rock succeeded in surpassing Hulk Hogan in terms of recognition and Hollywood success since he was the first one after Hogan to move outside of WWE and build his own Hollywood reputation.
However, Mike Chioda, a veteran referee for WWE, thinks that The People’s Champ, who just departed the organization, still has a few valuable years to contribute to the organization that helped him become a household name. And he shared his thoughts on The Rock departing for Hollywood from WWE.

In his conversation with Rene Dupree on Cafe de Rene in the past July, Chioda discussed the moment when ‘The People’s Champion’ left the WWE for Hollywood. He stated, “Andre passed that torch towards to Hogan and then you know Hogan finally at that time passed that torch towards The Rock. You know, in 2002 and you were too late a year or two later, Rock took the torch and took off to Hollywood and left us hanging.”
He added, “I mean, well, it was good for what he did, and started his things in Hollywood. But he had quite a few more years as he was best in business, but things didn’t really wasn’t panning too well with him in the office at that time. So he took off to Hollywood. And he just exploded and just look where he’s at right now.”
There were some issues between The Rock and WWE and the WWE headquarters
Chioda further noted the situation involving The Rock and WWE hadn’t turned out as expected. He recounted an instance when The Great One texted him to say that the meeting with McMahon didn’t go well, and subsequently, he left for Hollywood.
Although it wasn’t abundantly clear what went wrong in that meeting, The Rock eventually left the premises. And after a long absence, he returned to compete in the illustrious bout in which defeated John Cena twice in a row. But after a protracted absence from Cena matches, The Rock might be looking forward to making a comeback to compete in a proper bout.
